Inspired
We had 3 presentations on this first morning of the GEM Exchange from Rajendra Poudel, John Dada, and Eloisa San Mateo, Marvin Amatorio, and Elizabeth Aquino. Each of them was inspiring about how they used GEM to advance their important work. I particularly appreciated John Dada`s important point that the value of a development methodology is its ability to be localized and adapted for a context. By this definition, GEM proved its value in each of these cases.

Digital Story
Meeting Lenka at this workshop is bound to reawaken the GEM Zone. It makes a difference when you meet fellow bloggers F2F. I also was subscribed to Ugabytes and have read some of Francis' postong. Meeting him here has made a difference too. APC events is always a fascinating learning experience

Turning the Lens
Francis summarized it well. The entire process of coming up with a digital story was an exercise in refocusing on one's self. For last couple of days, I was at a loss of what I needed to place in my script. But the mantra was "it's all about you, your own story". Thus I trudged on, apprehensive about opening up myself to others. But as the process progressed, it was as if the tap was opened. There was a rush of emotions. Indeed, I ended up writing about things that were really personal. And suprisingly enough, it was not at all embarrassing.Read more

Every time I am in GEM training or workshop or any related events, I discover more on this issue. This Digital Story Telling workshop and GEM Exchange workshop gave new insights about GEM. Being a practitioners since 2005, every time I found this innovative. And thus GEM is always new to me and I always look forward to learn from others.
