M4M WORK@HOME

Mothers for Mothers (M4M), formed 1998, is a network of mothers involved in women’s networking activities to promote the concept of working from home. The network believes that through ICT, women can earn an income without having to leave their homes and sacrificing their responsibilities to their families. Their evaluation aimed to understand the problems faced by women and men teleworkers, and look into how ICT can help improve lifestyles in order to enable women to cope with their multiple roles (the triple roles of women manifested in child care, housework and income-earner). M4M’s evaluation team used a combination of methodologies including home visits, focus group discussions and a questionnaire survey. M4M will use evaluation results to guide the M4M national campaign promoting telework for women to the Malaysian government and corporations as well as a basis for further project development and fundraising.
